Sacred gatherings for people who carry grief too large or too quiet to hold alone — whether personal, cultural, ecological, or unspoken.

Grief is not a problem to solve. It is a living expression of love, loss, and belonging that has always been tended in community. This ritual space invites shared presence, deep listening, and compassionate witnessing — where grief can be held without urgency, explanation, or performance.

This work begins from a simple understanding: grief is a natural response to love and connection, not something to resolve or move through quickly.

These community rituals are rooted in somatic awareness, shared witness, and simple, grounded practices that support collective tending of grief.

Here, grief is a teacher, not a problem to be fixed. We gather to hold what is present together — with care for nervous systems, bodies, and the land beneath our feet.
What a Gathering Feels Like
Each ritual unfolds with a slow and steady rhythm.

You do not need to know what you’re grieving or have a specific loss in mind. Your presence and willingness to attend fully are welcome.
Who This Is Not For
This offering is not a clinical grief therapy group or trauma processing program. It is not designed for catharsis, emotional intensity for its own sake, spiritual bypassing, or analytical exploration of grief narratives.

Why Grieve in Community?
People have always gathered in community for rites of passage, mourning, and transition. In many traditions, grief is woven into the life of the village, not hidden away.

Land Acknowledgement
We gather on the unceded and ancestral lands of the K'ómoks peoples. We acknowledge the long-standing, ongoing relationship these people have with this land and understand communal grief tending as inseparable from respect, accountability, and care for place.

This acknowledgment is an invitation to shared presence and responsibility, not a formality.
Practical Details
Community Grief Rituals are offered periodically as seasonal, in-person gatherings in the Comox Valley.

Format: In-person circle indoor or outdoor on the land (depending on the season)

Location: Innisfree Farm and Botanic Garden, Courtenay, BC

Length: 3 hours

Structure: Three-part series

Cost: $150 (*Option to attend one ritual for $60. Financial accessibility options are also available.)
