Creating a Culture of Care

As folks who care deeply about creating a better world, we have a tendency to push ourselves. We feel we have to constantly fight against those in power to make meaningful change. We often lose sight of the importance of taking care of ourselves.

What if the ways we care for ourselves are a reflection of how we show up in service to the world?

What would it mean for us to actually embody the changes we're trying to create?

By creating a culture of care, we actively disrupt unrealistic expectations placed on us by the dominant systems and reclaim a sense of sovereignty over our lives. We bring forth a healthy way of showing up in service to building a world we can be proud to pass on to those yet to come.

My name is Cadence Moffat McCann (she/her). I'm a heart-led facilitator, healing practitioner, and aspiring crone. I am driven by my dedication to social and ecological justice, decolonization, and cultural regeneration.

After working tirelessly to try to save the world for 15 years, I experienced complete burnout. I didn’t have the care or support I needed. It was one of the hardest times of my life. As I now stand on the other side, I am dedicated to providing care to help folks like you feel resourced and resilient so you can keep showing up in service to the world.

My work is guided by my studies and experience in: Deep Nature Connection, Grief Tending, Somatic Therapy, Animism, Rites of Passage, Ecopsychology, Indigenous Solidarity, Ancestral Healing, and Ritual Practice.

"Cadence is a potent space-holder! Her loving presence and inner strength are powerful forces for healing. I wholeheartedly recommend her and her sessions." - Jaz Snider, facilitator

What is this?

In village times, the healers lived at the edge of the community. People came to them for healing and guidance. I’m here to offer that to you, somewhere you can come to get the support you seek.

This is an opportunity to receive personally curated care for your specific needs. It's a place to feel held in your process by someone who gets it and truly cares about you. It's a chance to let yourself soften and trust in the care you so fully deserve.

After holding sacred witness for your process, we will work together to create a personalized care plan just for you. Through a series of invitations, practices, and whole lot more sharing and witnessing, we will work towards helping you feel more resourced and clear about your unique role in service to the world.

Then, we'll put into practice tools for integrating the work we've done together so you can step into your specific purpose in creating meaningful change towards a better world.

Some of the ways I offer care include: Body/Mind Care (nervous system support), Spirit Care (resourcing with nature, guides, and ancestors), Heart Care (embracing grief and praise), and Soul Care (reclaiming sacred purpose).

Is this right for you?

This is for you if:

  • You are wholeheartedly dedicated to creating a better world.

  • You’re feeling overwhelmed and burned out from doing the good work.

  • You want to keep showing up in service but need support and care.

  • You long for greater resilience and capacity in your work and personal life.

  • You are dedicated to decolonization and cultural regeneration.

  • You identify as a changemaker through your role as a healer, community organizer, visionary, activist, caregiver, parent, artist, volunteer, etc.

  • You want to be a good ancestor to future generations.

  • You desire personalized care that is specific to your unique needs.

  • You resonate with the work of bell hooks, Joanna Macy, Bayo Akomolafe, Mary Oliver, adrienne maree brown, Francis Weller, Trisha Hersey, and others.

This is probably not for you if:

  • You’re more concerned with personal gain than the greater good.

  • You already have the care you need to keep doing the good work.

  • You are content with the status quo and don’t want to rock the boat.

  • You're seeking support in healing complex trauma in which case you should find appropriate professional counselling. (I can refer you to some amazing therapists!)

This is for you if you are a changemaker who wants to feel resourced and resilient so you can keep showing up in service to the world.

How does it work?

The Monthly Membership includes:

~ Four hour-long 1:1 sessions, once every week

~ Invitations & practices for ongoing care

~ Email support between sessions

~ Access to Monthly Community Council

Here is the flow of our time together:

  • Week One: Sacred Witnessing - We will start with holding space for you to share what you’re struggling with and voice your desires for care. This is an opportunity to feel seen and heard in all your messiness with no judgement or need to make it better.

  • Week Two: Personal Care Plan - Then, we'll work together to create a personally curated plan that is responsive to your unique needs and desires for care, something that feels good for you.

  • Week Three+: Implementing the Plan - Through a series of invitations and practices, we will put the plan in place, making changes as needed in response to current needs as they arise. We'll check-in regularly to decide how long you wish to continue receiving care.

  • Final Week: Integration - When we feel our work is complete, we will put into practice tools to help you continue to feel resourced as you deepen your work of sacred service to the world.
